Soline Dugi Otok
Settlemet Soline is located on NW part of Dugi Otok. It is mentioned in 12th century for the first time thus it became one of the oldest settlemants on the island. Soline are known for their numerous hidden beaches, probably the most famous one is Sakarun only 5 to 10 minutes stroll from the center. Name Soline comes from the salt works that used to be in Solascica Bay (Sol=Salt). Town of Soline is rather isolated and recomended for peaceful vacation in any of private holiday homes.Dugi otok is largest and longest in Zadar archipelago. Its names mean Long Island and almost 180 km of shore line are testiment to that. Eleven settlements on the island are facing mainland and other side is steep overlooking the open sea.
South western and western parts of the island are most attractive for the tourists. Telascica in south west of the island is Nature park and as such a part of Kornati National Park. Tourist resort Bozava, sandy beach Sakarun, Lighthouse Veli rat, fish restaurants in Veli rat and Verunic are all there to be visited and revisited. Sali is administrative seat of the island as well as tourist - fishermen town.
Zadar - Brbinj ferry line connects Dugi Otok with mainland.
